In former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial, the first six jurors have been selected after a rigorous screening process. Out of 96 potential candidates, only a select few made the cut after many were turned away for their inability to be impartial.
Some potential jurors had expressed negative views towards Trump on social media, which ultimately led to their dismissal from the jury selection process. For instance, one individual shared a post predicting Republicans gaining prison seats, while another posted a parody video mocking Trump just last month. These individuals were not among the final six jurors chosen.
Another potential juror revealed his critical view of Trump, showing a bias that led to his exclusion from the jury. Similarly, a different candidate had posted about Trump losing a court battle and advocated for his imprisonment. This individual, described as a middle-aged white man, was also left out of the final jury pool.
The selection process continues with the addition of another 96 potential jurors on Tuesday. Six jurors and six alternates will be chosen in the coming days to complete the jury panel for Trump’s hush money trial.
