Top Military Leaders to Discuss National Security at Five-Day Conference Starting Monday

Top commanders of the Indian Army will convene a five-day conference to review national security challenges along India’s borders with China and Pakistan, as well as ways to boost the Army’s combat capability. The conclave which is set to take place from Monday will also investigate the ongoing reform process of the 1.3 million-strong force, as well as the utilization of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and virtual reality.

Former foreign secretary and India’s former ambassador to Beijing, Vijay Gokhale, is anticipated to discuss the future contours of India-China relations during the conference. The conference is going to commence with a detailed review of the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), taking into account the three-year border dispute in the eastern Ladakh region. Additionally, the regional security situation and geopolitical implications of the Russia-Ukraine war will be among the issues to be discussed.

Vijay Gokhale has also been bestowed with distinct honors at the international level, such as the Order Of Friendship by the Republic of China, Order of Zayed by the United Arab Emirates and Legiun D’Honneur by the French Government.
