Tim Walz recently addressed donors at a Denver fundraiser, emphasizing the politics of kindness shared by the Democratic ticket. However, Governor Walz cautioned against interpreting kindness as weakness, particularly in contrast to their Republican rival, former President Donald Trump.
The event, held at the historic Phipps Mansion, was hosted by prominent Democratic figures Tim Gill and his husband, U.S. ambassador Scott Miller. The fundraiser, benefiting the Harris Victory Fund, reportedly raised $3 million, drawing around 150 supporters.
Highlighting Vice President Kamala Harris’s track record in prosecuting fraudsters and predators, Walz emphasized her commitment to holding wrongdoers accountable. Drawing parallels between their backgrounds, he underscored Harris’s dedication to addressing societal challenges.
During the event, Governor Walz humorously recounted his experience of being tasked with reading a teleprompter for the first time at a rally in Philadelphia, showcasing his authenticity and spontaneity.
The fundraiser, part of Walz’s cross-country tour, aimed to rally support for the Democratic ticket and strengthen partnerships at the state level. Governor Jared Polis praised Walz’s initiatives in Minnesota and expressed confidence in the Harris-Walz partnership benefitting states like Colorado.
Attendees included key Democratic figures like U.S. Rep. Joe Neguse, former Reps. Ed Perlmutter and John Salazar, Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold, and others. Walz’s remarks focused on critical issues such as gun legislation, climate change, poverty, and global leadership, stressing the United States’ role as an ideal-driven nation.
As the election countdown continues, Walz urged supporters to stay engaged and committed, encapsulating his message with the rallying cry, Sleep when you’re dead.
The event provided a platform for Democrats to showcase their unity, vision, and commitment to addressing pressing national and global challenges. With just 83 days left until Election Day, the Democratic ticket is bolstering its support base and preparing for a competitive race ahead.
