The Importance of the AI Arms Race Beyond Industry Leadership

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly advancing, creating new products and technologies but also requiring an immense amount of computational power and resources. However, Thione insists that advancements in AI and machine learning techniques will create more architectures to sustain AI development. Thione predicts that AI will be used to tackle energy consumption and power resource distribution, and foster more diverse and successful LGBTQ+ startups. Thione believes there are both pros and cons to AI, but the positives outweigh the negatives. While acknowledging that AI may have some negative side-effects in the future, Thione says investing in companies that create adversarial systems to combat misuse of AI technology is necessary. Thione believes AI will ultimately be used to make the world a better place, and that it is not likely to destroy humanity.
