For businesses everywhere, managing cloud systems is becoming increasingly difficult. Recent research from NetApp has revealed that nearly all IT leaders (98%) have experienced the negative effects of the growing complexity of cloud systems. The cloud is also seen as being essential in achieving the business’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) outcomes, putting organizations in a somewhat risk position of whether the cloud will be able to deliver the desired results promptly or cause them to lose money and time.
As a means of taking a more positive approach to cloud management, a significant portion (37%) of tech industry executives are expecting the next year to be supported by Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered applications. Ronen Schwartz, Senior Vice President at NetApp, commented on the situation, mentioning the pressure IT leaders feel when trying to manage efficiency and security in this ever-evolving environment, especially with businesses needing to keep up with the pace of innovation.
The research, conducted across nine countries in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific, emphasizes the complexities of dealing with the cloud environment, where organizations need to achieve a balance between capability, agility, cost, and flexibility, while trying to keep the mix of on-premises and cloud systems in the right proportion. Furthermore, the Microsoft antitrust worries, which are causing the assessment process to become slower and harder, further complicate the picture.
To improve customer satisfaction, cloud companies should ask themselves what they are currently lacking so they can attract more people. Those on the smaller side of the sphere are seen to be more enthusiastic toward AI, as it could potentially bring them the cost savings they are looking for.
