Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and IT Minister D Sridhar Babu are set to participate in the 54th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland. This will be the first time the Chief Minister leads the official delegation since Telangana’s formation. The aim of their participation is to attract investments and showcase the strengths of the state.
The Chief Minister and IT Minister have a packed schedule at Davos, including meetings with 70 industry leaders over three days. These leaders include CEOs and CXOs of global companies like Novartis, Medtronic, Astra Zeneca, Google, Uber, Mastercard, Bayer, LDC, and UPL. They will also meet with top Indian industry representatives, including Tata, Wipro, HCL Tech, JSW, Godrej, Airtel, and Bajaj. The delegation will also interact with business chambers such as CII and NASSCOM, as well as media networks.
The World Economic Forum is a premier international platform where government leaders, global CEOs, industry captains, social entrepreneurs, and newsmakers collaborate to address global issues. It is an invite-only event that attracts over 3,000 delegates each year, representing governments, global companies, international organizations, NGOs, and media.
The IT Minister expressed his commitment to making the trip successful and productive. The delegation expects to sign several MoUs and secure investment deals in sectors like pharma, electronics, data centers, defense and aerospace, food processing, and renewable energy. During the event, the Chief Minister has been invited to speak at the WEF Congress Centre, a special honor for his first visit to Davos. He will share his views on transforming healthcare digitally, a key priority for the government. Additionally, he will attend a high-level event on food systems and local action, discussing the impact of climate change on agriculture and measures to promote climate-resilient agriculture while protecting farmers’ livelihoods. The IT Minister will participate in a panel discussion on developing skills for artificial intelligence, as well as hold separate meetings with tech companies, trade organizations, and NRI entrepreneurs.
The delegation will also meet with top management of the WEF, including its president Brende Borge and several sector heads.
The participation of Telangana’s Chief Minister and IT Minister in the World Economic Forum is expected to attract investments to the state and highlight its potential as a leading hub for IT and life sciences.
