Talking to ChatGPT on Bing with Microsoft SwiftKey

Date:

Microsoft has recently added AI-powered Bing capabilities to the SwiftKey app, a third-party keyboard. This new update will allow users to chat with the AI chatbot, ChatGPT, directly from the mobile keyboard and search for items without having to switch between multiple apps. This addition is currently available on iOS and Android.

The Bing integration has three major functions in the SwiftKey app: Search, Tone, and Chat. Once the update is downloaded, a Bing icon will be visible on top of the Keyboard, enabling a user to click on the specific features they require. With the Chat function, users can access the new Bing anytime for more detailed queries, while the Tone function enables users to personalise their text based conversations using AI. To make search between apps more efficient, the Search feature allows users to quickly search the web from the keyboard.

Moreover, Microsoft has introduced the Translator functionality to the Bing Mobile App. This feature provides alternatives for masculine and feminine translations when translating from English to Spanish, French, and Italian. Users are now able to choose the gendered translation that fits the context more accurately.

The new Bing is now accessible by Skype, allowing everyone in a group chat to access the new Bing. Furthermore, it’s also available on the Microsoft Start app.

The company responsible for this integration is Microsoft. Founded in 1975, Microsoft is an American based multinational technology company best known for its Windows operating system, Office suite, Xbox consoles, and Surface devices. Microsoft has been leading the industry with its innovations and AI related capabilities. Its collaboration with SwiftKey further strengthens Microsoft’s venture into AI powered technology.

SwiftKey is the company behind the integration of AI-powered Bing capabilities to the SwiftKey app. Previously on its own, SwiftKey was acquired by Microsoft in 2016, allowing integration of more advanced technologies from Microsoft to enrich SwiftKey and its development. Headquartered in London, SwiftKey provides business and consumer technology solutions, focusing particularly on artificial intelligence and natural language processing. The latest integration of Bing capabilities to the SwiftKey mobile app displays the potential of AI-powered technology, providing an efficient and powerful platform for users to access and interact with the world.
