Together with PepsiCo's snack-food subsidiary Walkers, Einride aims to reduce the 1.6 billion tonnes of goods transported by road freight in the UK annually by using electric trucks. Pilot runs are taking place between Leicester and Coventry, with planned extensions to other major cities in the Midlands including London. Einride has already collaborated with other notable companies such as Electrolux in Germany and GE Appliances in the US. This move marks Einride's progress in establishing a "freight mobility grid" on busy freight routes.
