He noted that the SAR government is closely monitoring related advancements in the field whilst delving into the potential benefits and risks of AI technology. Sun confirmed that the government will be collaborating with different industries to promote its growth in Hong Kong, aiming to push relevant technologies to new heights. However, for now the region has no plans to adopt the ChatGPT chatbot due to information security risks. OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, has not yet given the region the green light for its use.
