Stability AI has launched its StableLM suite of language models, allowing users to freely access its open-source generative AI models. Featuring 3 billion to 65-billion parameters, trained on 1.5 trillion tokens, and with features such as 5 open-source datasets, the suite provides trustworthiness, transparency, and broad accessibility to foundational AI technology.
Artificial Intelligence startup Stability AI is introducing StableLM, a new language model that could soon power chatbots used across a range of industries, such as government and finance. Though still in early stages, StableLM has potential to meet its purpose but difficult scenarios may test its limits. Available on Hugging Face’s open-source platform, StableLM gives human-level responses to questions like “What would you say to a friend who is graduating high school?” yet may display hidden bias in certain questions. StableLM is still in development with CEO of Stability AI, Emad Mostaque, saying alpha is not enough for consumer use. With StableLM, the question is can Stability AI do better with the chatbot technology?
