Ransomware threats on Microsoft devices have increased exponentially in the last few years, with 135 vulnerabilities recorded and 18 more flagged by antivirus programs. In Q1 2021, cyber researchers found 12 such vulnerabilities circulating on the dark web, with open source software also being targeted.
