On September 29th, 2020 an alarming incident took place between a UK and Russian military aircraft in international airspace near Crimea. Had it faltered differently, it could have triggered a WWIII. But, thankfully, a technical malfunction in the missile saved the day. Leaks surfaced and it was referred to as a "'near shoot-down." Knowing the consequences of a successful attack, NATO's Article 5 should be kept in mind and its regulations enforced if needed.
