The results showed that ChatGPT performed impressively, scoring an overall average of 47.4%, although students outperformed it with an average of 76.7%. It had difficulty with short-answer questions, and specifically with tax, financial, and managerial accounting tasks, which could be attributed to its difficulty with mathematical processes. A research team of 327 from 186 universities in 14 countries conducted the study. This groundbreaking breakthrough has the potential to revolutionize teaching and learning in academia.
