Elon Musk, the billionaire owner of Twitter, recently proposed the creation of a counter AI to ChatGPT, an OpenAI-based AI chatbot. His alternative, "TruthGPT", would be "maximum truth-seeking AI that tries to understand the nature of the universe". To further his interest in artificial intelligence, he has incorporated X.AI Corp. Musk resigned from OpenAI in 2018 due to Elon's work on automated driving coinciding with OpenAI's, and the transition from a non-profit AI research lab to one linked to Microsoft. Meanwhile, Baaba Maal, a Senegalese musician, was named United Nations ambassador for Desertification, to raise awareness on environmental issues.

Elon Musk recently revealed his doubts about acquiring Twitter for a total of 44 billion dollars during an interview with Fox News Channel's "Tucker Carlson Tonight." Despite its high purchase price, Musk believes it was valued at less than half that amount and may even have been bought for twice what it should have been. Media Matters reports that some of its advertisers have since then departed, while Wall Street Journal reveals a 40% reduction in sales revenues in December 2021. Musk still believes in free speech and democracy and is investing in an AI unit called TruthGPT, a reference to OpenAI's ChatGPT. OpenAI, established by Musk in 2015, is a research laboratory based in San Francisco and Seattle with partners such as Microsoft and Facebook. Despite the recent developments, the South African entrepreneur remains devoted to scientific research, the environment and equal rights for minorities.

Friends of the Irish Environment presents a heartfelt poem written by ChatGPT to government ministers with the aim of protecting 10 cm and deeper peat soils from forestry. Invoking the UN Report on Global Peatlands, Planting on Peat Soils highlights why thinning peat soils should be defended, with possible disastrous consequences if they're encroached upon.
