Craig Martell, Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Specialist from the Department of Defense, is worried about the misuse of Generative AI, such as the ChatGPT model which cannot understand the context of information it is given. This could be used for disinformation and Martell cautions the tech industry to be mindful of the development of AI technology. Companies such as Amazon, Baidu, Google, Facebook and Microsoft are the leading developers of AI. To avoid misuse, Martell has suggested to create an effective monitoring system to protect the public.
