OpenAI and Italian data protection agency Garante are facing a temporary ban on the chatbot ChatGPT. The chatbot uses Artificial Intelligence to generate texts that resemble human creations, however Garante is concerned with the potential violations to data protection legislation. In order to have the ban lifted, OpenAI must ensure transparency over how user data is processed and acquire permission to use the data.
