SureCore Revolutionizes Data Centers with Cryogenic Memory Solutions

Date:

SureCore, a cutting-edge technology firm, has developed a groundbreaking solution in the form of low power cryogenic memory. This innovative technology allows memory solutions for quantum computing applications to operate at extremely low temperatures, specifically down to 4K. The versatility of this advancement extends to 77K operation as well.

In today’s digital landscape, where data centers and AI processors play a pivotal role, the integration of SureCore’s low power cryogenic memory could revolutionize the industry. By significantly reducing power dissipation in SRAM, data centers could operate more efficiently, resulting in cooler environments and reduced cooling loads.

The pressing issue of power consumption in data centers is a point of concern globally, exacerbated by the growing demand for AI and large language models. Studies have shown that cooling power-hungry processing chips to the temperature of liquid nitrogen at 77K can lead to a seven-fold reduction in power usage, with potential savings of up to four times the current consumption.

Paul Wells, CEO of SureCore, highlighted the collaborative effort with partner Semiwise to develop cryogenic transistor SPICE models as part of an Innovate UK funded project. By adapting their low power memory technology for operation at temperatures as low as 4K, SureCore aims not only to enable cryogenic memory but also to minimize thermal load in cryostats.

Professor Asen Asenov, CEO of SemiWise, emphasized the importance of accurate cryogenic transistor SPICE models in advancing AI capabilities. This technology enables IP developers to create essential building blocks for next-generation AI server chips, enhancing the overall efficiency of data centers.
