ChatGPT, the AI chatbot, has been making waves ever since it was launched in November 2022. From writing poetry and essays to providing advice on learning how to make money and smartly avoiding parking tickets, the AI chatbot has been used in numerous innovative ways. It has once again made headlines, this time in helping a student receive a scholarship from the prestigious Cambridge University.
According to a report by Business Insider, Matt Huculak, a professor at the University of Victoria submitted a letter of recommendation written by ChatGPT and it was accepted by the university. Impressed by the letter’s quality and structure, Huculak enthused how the recommendation was one of the best he has read in a long time, applauding ChatGPT for its conciseness, concrete examples, and how it addressed the candidate’s ability to collaborate with others.
This is not the first time that the chatbot has made headlines for its academic contribution. Recently, a student took to Reddit to share his experience on using ChatGPT as a tutor to prepare for his semester exams. Even though he had only three days to study, he scored an impressive 94 percent on the test. The student hailed the chatbot by stating that it excelled in understanding the course material as it was already heavily analyzed and the AI specializes in text comprehension.
ChatGPT is constantly proving to be a useful asset to the education sector, as earlier it was prohibited in many schools and universities. The growth of the AI chatbot is also a testimony to its strong capabilities with every passing day. This innovative technology can definitely simplify student’s lives and facilitate them with a convenient and stress-free learning experience.
