Instant messaging app Snapchat has announced that it is offering its AI-powered customizable chatbot, ‘My AI’, for free to all users globally. ‘My AI’ is based on OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology, and was previously exclusive to Snapchat+ subscribers. All Snapchat users can now enjoy the features of ‘My AI’, which includes the ability to reply to users’ queries with personalized messages and fully AI-generated images.
The chatbot has already been enjoyed by Snapchat+ users, with a total of nearly 2 million chat messages per day. My AI is also integrated with various features of the app. For instance, it can suggest recommendations taken from the Snap Map, as well as suggesting relevant Lenses. Furthermore, users have the ability to change the look and name of their bot with a custom avatar.
Snapchat is also looking to take AI performance to a whole new level. As part of this goal, the team is looking to push the boundaries of how AR is created with the help of advancements in machine learning. This new approach promises to deliver more realistic AR experiences to users faster than ever before.
Snapchat is addressing safety concerns when it comes to AI as well. They boast that 99.5% of the chatbot’s responses conform to its community guidelines. It has also been announced that the instant messaging service is continually working to make AI a secure, enjoyable and useable experience.
