SMVDU Launches Its AI And Machine Learning Skill Development Program – AI Next
The five-day Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Applications Skill Development Program has kicked off at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra. The School of Computer Science and Engineering is spearheading this initiative, backed by the Higher Education Department of the Government of J&K, to equip participants with knowledge and skills in the rapidly evolving fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.
Institutions from across J&K, including SKUAST Jammu, UIET Kathua, Central University Jammu, and Kashmir University, have shown interest in taking part in this event.
Vice-Chancellor of SMVDU Prof. Pragati Kumar graced the opening ceremony as the main guest, emphasizing key concepts like startups, entrepreneurship, lifelong learning, and delivering a motivational speech that captivated the audience.
Leading the coordination of the program is Prof. K R Jha, Dean of the SMVDU Faculty of Engineering, alongside Co-Coordinators Drs. Manoj Kumar Gupta and Pooja Sharma.
The event also welcomed distinguished guests such as Dr. Karan Singh from JNU Delhi and Dr. Shitala Prasad from IIT Goa, who will share their knowledge and insights with the participants. Throughout the five-day program, renowned academics from prestigious institutions like IITs, NITs, CSIR, and JNU, as well as industry professionals, will deliver lectures to help bridge the gap between academia and industry in the digital age.
Dr. Pooja Sharma expressed gratitude on behalf of the organizers, with students namely Payel Maken, Komal Bhardwaj, Subhag Sharma, Tushar Taggar, Rajat, Hiridyanshu, Achyut, and Rudraksh playing key roles in coordinating the event.
