OpenAI has added a new feature to ChatGPT that makes it easier to share online conversations with others. Called Shared Links, this feature allows users to share their ChatGPT conversations and chats with others via social media, email or other mediums. Shared Links can also help people to continue a conversation when they receive a shared link. This new feature is available to all users on ChatGPT’s free and paid versions, though it is currently limited to the ChatGPT website.
If you want to share your ChatGPT chats with others, start by logging in to your account. Click on New Chat and start a conversation. On the left side of your ChatGPT dashboard, hover over the chat you wish to share and click on the Share icon. Here, you can preview the conversation snapshot before it’s sent. You can edit the conversation title, share a chat with your name attached or share it anonymously. Just click on Copy Link and then share the link with anyone you want.
Anyone with access to your shared link and a ChatGPT account can continue the conversation and ask their follow-up questions. For those without an account, the conversation appears as a static webpage, but they can still view the conversation between you and the AI chatbot.
If you want to delete your shared links and make them inaccessible to others, here’s how to do it. Click on your name on the bottom-left of the page and click on Settings from the menu. Go to Data Controls and click on Manage. You will see a list of your shared links here. You can delete individual shared links by clicking the Trash icon or all shared links at once by clicking on the ellipses (…).
By introducing Shared Links, OpenAI has made sharing and collaborating on ChatGPT conversations easy. While this feature was first rolled out to ChatGPT Plus subscribers, it is now available for all users on the web version.
