Scientists Secure €10.5 Million Funding for Energy-Efficient AI Processors and Enhanced Computational Fluid Dynamics, Netherlands

Dutch scientists have secured €10.5 million in funding to develop energy-efficient AI processors and enhance computational fluid dynamics. The funding, provided by science financier NWO, will support two research projects led by professors Henk Corporaal and Federico Toschi at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). The goal is to create more energy-efficient edge AI processors that can perform calculations locally, resulting in faster decision-making and reduced data leakage. Meanwhile, the researchers will also focus on improving computational fluid dynamics by combining data-driven and model-driven methods to enhance accuracy and efficiency. The projects are part of NWO’s Open Technology Program, which promotes interdisciplinary research collaborations between scientists and industry partners.
