Samsung is reportedly testing its upcoming One UI 6.1 software on older Galaxy phones ahead of the highly anticipated Galaxy S24 debut. This news comes from reliable leaker Tarun Vats, who revealed that test builds of One UI 6.1 have been spotted on various Samsung smartphones, including the Galaxy S23, S22, S21, Z Fold 5, Flip 5, Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, and S21 FE. Samsung is also not neglecting its budget models, as the Galaxy A54 and A34 are also part of the testing lineup.
While these test builds indicate that the One UI 6.1 update may be available for older Galaxy phones, it’s important to note that its rollout may not happen immediately after the launch of the Galaxy S24. The release is expected to happen in the first quarter of the year.
One UI 6.1 has been in development at Samsung for some time now and is expected to debut alongside the Galaxy S24 series. Unfortunately, details about the software’s features and improvements are still scarce. However, rumors have emerged suggesting AI enhancements in Samsung Notes for auto-formatting, AI-generated wallpapers, and the ability to rearrange elements in photos after capturing them. Whether these features will be exclusive to the Galaxy S24 or will be available on other devices remains uncertain.
While the list of devices currently undergoing One UI 6.1 testing covers several recent flagship models, it’s worth noting that the Galaxy S23 FE and other A-series models are missing. It’s possible that Samsung may expand the list following the official release of One UI 6.1.
As Samsung continues to test the software on its devices, fans eagerly await its release and the opportunity to experience the new features and improvements it brings.
