Samsung’s upcoming One UI 6.1 update is set to bring an array of innovative features to its phones, with Generative AI taking center stage. Already leaked features include real-time language translation, a wallpaper generator, and notes summarization. However, the latest reveal is that Samsung will integrate Generative AI into its keyboard app.

Tipster Vedant Kalore recently discovered this feature through Samsung Remote Lab, which is currently in the testing phase for the One UI 6.1 update. In a video shared by the tipster, it is evident that Samsung Keyboard will offer a new option called Generative AI, with users having the choice of four Generative AI models: PaLM 2, GPT4, Gecko, and Scs. Additionally, users can select from two language translation models: LLM and on-device.

While the exact capabilities and features of these Generative AI models for Samsung Keyboard remain unknown, it is likely that they will enhance Samsung devices with improved grammar, language translation, and text summarization. Previous leaks suggest that Samsung Notes will offer summarized versions of handwritten notes captured using the S Pen. Additionally, Samsung’s Voice Recorder app is expected to transcribe up to ten voices into text, a useful feature for meetings and lectures. Some of these features are anticipated to be available on existing phones like the Galaxy S23.

The highly anticipated Galaxy S24 series, equipped with the powerful Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processors, is expected to showcase several AI and Generative AI features. These features may prove to be an essential distinction between Samsung’s flagship phones and competing devices from other brands. Samsung has even developed its own in-house Large Language Model (LLM) called Samsung Gauss, which is likely to power many AI features on the Galaxy S24 series.
