It was recently revealed that Samsung has enabled the temperature sensor on the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, a smartwatch launched nearly nine months ago. This feature, named Cycle Tracking, offers a more in-depth menstrual tracking experience to its users by monitoring their core body temperature. As of now, it is rolling out ‘progressively’ to the Samsung Health app in the United States, Korea and a few European countries.
The Cycle Tracking feature lives in the Samsung Health app. By measuring the basal body temperature (BBT) as soon as a user wakes up, it is able to give more precise prediction of when a person is close to ovulating or about to start a period. Samsung has collaborated with Natural Cycles to improve their service and give users better experience. It is important to note, however, that the service will not be useful for people who are on hormonal birth control or those who are undergoing any sort of treatment that pauses their ovulation process. For accurate results, one should try to keep the watch on throughout the night. This feature is currently limited to those aged 18 and above.
Besides tracking ovulation process, the Cycle Tracking feature also helps users make lifestyle adjustments during that time of the month. As a user log in the symptoms observed in the daily log, Samsung Health will recommend certain adjustments to help them relax and relieve any pain in the pelvic area.
When it comes to technology, Samsung is the top brand that comes to mind. It is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and sellers of consumer electronics, IT and mobile communications, home appliances, and other related products and services. Established in 1938, the company has gone through significant expansions and innovations, under the leadership of its CEO, Dongjin Koh. The integration of Cycle Tracking feature in the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro shows Samsung’s focus to make people’s lives better and to stay at the top of the electronic industries.
