Salesforce pledges to invest an additional $250 million in generative AI startups, bringing its Generative AI Fund‘s total to $500 million. Salesforce Ventures managing partner Paul Drews says the expansion will allow Salesforce to work with even more entrepreneurs and accelerate the development of transformative AI solutions for the enterprise. The Generative AI Fund, launched in March, invests in firms on the forefront of generative AI tech, prioritizing ethical AI technologies. The Fund also stands out for its diverse range of technologies, financing Humane, which is creating a wearable, screenless AI assistant, and You.com, which hosts an AI-powered search engine with generative art and text tools. Salesforce Ventures has participated in over 140 deals for AI and machine learning startups, particularly in the areas of AI insights for sales and personalized ecommerce experiences. A KPMG survey found that almost two-thirds of execs believe that generative AI will have a high or extremely high impact on their organization within the next three to five years.
