SaaS Procurement Platform akirolabs Raises $5M in Seed Funding, Advances AI Capabilities

Berlin-based akirolabs has secured €4.6 million ($5 million) in a seed funding round to further develop its AI-powered procurement platform. The SaaS company focuses on collaborative strategic procurement and aims to enhance its SaaS product, strengthen its AI capabilities, and expand its customer base. Leading investors in the funding round include HTGF, OTB Ventures, D11Z. Ventures, and Serpentine Ventures. Several well-known angel investors, such as Fredrick Spalcke, Heiko Schwarz, Markus Ehrle, and Detlef Schultz also participated in the round. As part of this development, akirolabs has appointed Jens Rassloff as the Chairman of the Advisory Board. The company, founded in 2021, emphasizes the shift in procurement digitalization from operational to strategic focus. With current macroeconomic challenges and unforeseen events, akirolabs aims to offer an AI-powered solution to deliver greater value in procurement beyond traditional savings. The company’s SaaS solution enables clients to unlock four to five times higher value in procurement. Through improved total cost, supply chain resilience, sustainability, and agility, akirolabs aims to strengthen its customers’ competitiveness.
