Russia’s far-right Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR) has unveiled an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot of its deceased leader, Vladimir Zhirinovsky. The chatbot, created with the help of experts at the University of World Civilizations in Moscow, is based on 18,000 hours of the late politician’s speeches and other public statements. The political algorithm is solely educational, said an LDPR spokesman, with the aim of introducing people to the legacy of Zhirinovsky, who died from Covid-19 last year. The chatbot has been programmed to make predictions on various topics, including the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
