Ringo Starr, former member of the legendary band The Beatles, has revealed new details about the group’s long-awaited final track, which was created with the help of AI technology. According to Starr, the track should have already been released, but fans are still eagerly anticipating its arrival.
In an interview with Associated Press, Starr shared that the song features the voices of all four Beatles members – John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and himself. Addressing concerns about the authenticity of the track, Starr dismissed rumors that they had fabricated any of the voices, stating, Like we would do that anyway. Instead, AI technology was used to extricate Lennon’s vocals from demo recordings, as McCartney previously explained.
The AI technology separated the old recordings and combined them with new recordings from McCartney and Starr to create the final track. This innovative use of AI has sparked excitement among fans, and Starr acknowledged that the song should have already been released, suggesting that there have been unexpected delays.
Aside from the Beatles project, Starr also shared news about his new EP titled Rewind Forward, set to be released on October 13th. This will be his fourth EP in the past three years. Expressing his love for EPs, Starr mentioned that he was inspired by younger artists who have been releasing EPs recently.
For his latest EP, Starr collaborated with Bruce Sugar, his frequent co-writer and engineer, as well as Steve Lukather from the All Starr Band, Joe Williams from Toto, and Benmont Tench and Mike Campbell from Tom Petty’s Heartbreakers. Even McCartney contributed to the project.
It’s worth noting that Starr was recently inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame on September 24th in Nashville, marking another milestone in his illustrious career.
Fans of The Beatles are eagerly awaiting the release of the AI-created track, which promises to be a unique and historic musical experience. Despite the delays, Starr’s reassurances that the song is still set to be released have given hope to fans around the world.
