SoundHound recently announced the integration of ChatGPT into European vehicles, marking a significant advancement in AI technology within automobile systems. This new feature is now live in Peugeot, Opel, and Vauxhall vehicles across 11 European markets, including Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom, with further expansion planned for 17 markets and 12 languages by the end of July.
Stellantis DS Automobiles led the way in implementing this cutting-edge technology earlier this year, becoming the first automaker to incorporate the latest generative AI technology into its vehicles through SoundHound Chat AI software. The success of this integration has resulted in a sixfold increase in usage, a 50% rise in interaction frequency, a 5x decrease in unfulfilled requests, and a 5x increase in the Net Promoter Score.
The innovative SoundHound Chat AI allows for hands-free voice control over various functions like navigation, calls, real-time information retrieval, and more. With ChatGPT integrated into this system, drivers can ask a wide range of questions and engage in natural, informative conversations while on the road. This technology provides drivers with instant access to knowledge sources, in-vehicle controls, and real-time data, enhancing their overall driving experience.
Michael Zagorsek, COO of SoundHound AI, expressed pride in the collaboration with Stellantis and the advancements made in delivering a next-generation consumer experience centered around natural conversation. The introduction of ChatGPT into European vehicles is a testament to the demand for sophisticated AI-powered voice assistants in the automotive industry, paving the way for an exciting era of innovation and convenience for drivers.
