This week marks the release of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, as we all cheer on for Bhaijaan, Salman Khan. Although the expectations are high, what we get is far from impressive. The film is a remake of the 2014 Ajith Kumar starrer Veeram, which was earlier remade in Telugu and Kannada. It features the typical Salman Khan commercial potboiler storyline with an added horror aspect to it.
Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is set in a ‘mohalla’ that is on the radar to be vacated by a local MLA. Bhaijaan (played by Salman Khan) does not like the idea of getting married as he believes it will affect the bond between him and his brothers. An unforeseen enterance of Bhagya (Pooja Hegde) then creates a commotion between them. The first half of the film is based on how Bhaijaan deals with Bhagya.
However, the story follows the formula of your generic Salman Khan release; one that simply celebrates the star, and not the script. Everything has been done before, and nothing really stands out. What’s more, the story feels outdated, a genuine side effect of the remake.
Farhad Samji of Housefull 4 fame, is the director of the film. But even he has not been able to do much with the film, as it fails to bring something new to the table.
This week also marks the release of Evil Dead Rise, an actual horror film that differs from Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Even though fans have high hopes for Salman Khan stardom, it is highly unlikely for this movie to climb the box office hill, considering the quality of the script.
Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan Movie Review (Quicker) – A below-mediocre film with an outdated storyline, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan fails to deliver an entertaining experience. Despite the star power of Salman Khan, it is highly unlikely to perform well at the box office. Fans may be better off watching Evil Dead Rise, this week’s other horror release.
