Setapp recently released the results of their seventh annual Mac Developer Survey. They asked a total of 701 developers about their experiences with developing apps, their preferred distribution channels, the top trends in the industry, the biggest challenges, and more.
One of the questions focused on if developers would be willing to use third-party iOS app stores if Apple allows them. Additionally, developers were asked if they were utilizing OpenAI’s ChatGPT integration and building AI/ML models into their apps.
The survey results also covered app distribution, including the issues of discovery, marketing and user acquisition. The complete report includes sections about the Mac developer landscape, Mac App Store vs Setapp, experience with Apple Silicon, accessibility, cross-platform development and the impact of global trends.
