Research Reveals Up to 80% of US Workforce Could Be Impacted by AI

Date:

Research conducted by OpenAI, OpenResearch and the University of Pennsylvania suggests that AI could have a great impact on the US workforce. According to their findings, the technology has the potential to affect around 80 percent of the US personnel, with 10 percent of their work influenced by large language models like Generative Pre-trained Transformers (GPTs). The tech could even replace some manual labor. A closer look into their data shows that almost 20 percent could have their tasks completed faster and with higher accuracy through AI-powered tools, while roughly 15 percent of all jobs would be markedly affected across the US.

ChatGPT, an OpenAI language processing system capable of generating natural conversations, has raised certain apprehensions due to its steady rise in popularity from school settings to the workforce.
