According to recent reports, ChatGPT, a generative AI chatbot developed by OpenAI, has transformed the way people work and personal lives. It has become popular among students, travelers, and corporates alike, with over 50% of tech HR employees using it for their work. A recent survey by B2B Reviews also reveals that one in ten tech HR employees openly admits to using ChatGPT for writing employee terminations.
The survey highlights that HR departments are using ChatGPT to automate tasks such as interview scheduling, distributing onboarding materials, and following up with candidates, saving an average of 70 minutes per week. Furthermore, the report shows that 70% of HR tech employees are provided with the necessary financial resources and tools to make positive changes in HR practices.
Apart from ChatGPT, HR departments are also using other tech tools such as payroll software (54%), background check software (42%), HR analytics and reporting (41%), and time and attendance systems (40%) to make their work more effective and save time.
Although the rise of AI in HR operations has raised concerns among small businesses owners, over 65% of respondents in a survey conducted by FreshBooks disagreed with the notion that AI would replace them. In fact, 25% of small business owners stated that they are currently utilizing or testing generative AI tools, including ChatGPT, Google Bard, and Microsoft Bing.
The report also warns about the importance of balancing human expertise with the efficiency provided by AI, considering the potential job threats posed by AI technology. The current need is to utilize AI to boost productivity rather than consider it a direct job threat.
As AI continues to reshape corporate practices, ChatGPT’s time and resource-saving potential demonstrates the benefits of using AI chatbots. HR professionals can now complete their tasks in a shorter time, and HR departments can improve their overall efficiency.
