OpenAI and Reddit have announced a collaboration that will integrate Reddit’s vast content into ChatGPT, a development that has sent Reddit’s share soaring more than 10% before the market even opened on Friday.
This partnership will grant OpenAI access to Reddit’s data API, allowing them to tap into real-time, structured, and unique content from the platform. In return, Reddit users and moderators will benefit from new AI-powered features, and OpenAI will serve as a Reddit advertising partner.
Reddit’s co-founder and CEO, Steve Huffman, expressed excitement about the agreement, emphasizing Reddit’s position as a hub of authentic and constantly updated human conversations across a wide range of topics.
