Rajasthan Police Cyber Security Hackathon 1.0: Battling Cybercrime with Innovative Solutions
Jaipur, Rajasthan – In a significant move to tackle the growing threat of cybercrime in the state, Director General of Police U R Sahoo launched the Rajasthan Police Cyber Crime Awareness Mission and unveiled the Rajasthan Police Cyber Volunteer Portal at the police headquarters. This initiative aims to make the region more resilient against cyber threats and create awareness about cybercrime among the public.
The Rajasthan Police Cyber Security Hackathon 1.0, scheduled for January 17-18, 2024, will play a pivotal role in achieving these objectives. The hackathon will take place at the Rajasthan International Center in Jhalana, Jaipur, and will witness the participation of 1,665 individuals from various educational institutions, industries, research labs, and startups across Rajasthan. These participants will form around 300 teams and work continuously for 36 hours to devise innovative solutions to 12 problem statements related to cybersecurity.
Some of the key problem statements that will be addressed during the hackathon include improving the police feedback system, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), image processing, drones, darknet, and cryptocurrency for enhancing police operations. Other problem statements focus on identifying and combatting fake websites, advertisements, and customer care numbers, as well as developing systems for geo-tagging privately owned cameras, data analysis software for financial frauds, and deep fake detection.
The aim of the hackathon is to enhance cybersecurity preparedness in Rajasthan by addressing various challenges such as cybercrime, cyber terrorism, cyber warfare, and cyber espionage. The participating teams will use their expertise and technological skills to find innovative solutions that can effectively combat these threats.
The top three teams from the hackathon will have the opportunity to present their solutions in the final phase. They will compete for cash prizes totaling Rs 20,00,000 along with certificates of commendation. This incentive not only motivates the participants but also recognizes their contributions towards creating a safer cyberspace.
