Prime Minister Denkov to Address Global Challenges at Davos Forum
Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov is set to participate in the upcoming World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, from January 15-19. The annual event will gather world leaders and experts from various fields to discuss pressing global issues, including economic uncertainty, environmental risks, artificial intelligence, and countering misinformation. This year’s forum takes on extra significance in light of the ongoing military conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, as well as the findings of the Global Risks Report 2024.
According to the report, misinformation stands out as one of the most significant short-term risks, while extreme weather is emerging as a major long-term concern. As these challenges continue to affect nations worldwide, the Davos meeting’s theme of Rebuilding Trust resonates strongly. Prime Minister Denkov noted how trust has eroded both within societies and between nations, making this year’s discussions all the more crucial.
Over 2,800 participants, including 60 heads of state and government, will join the Davos forum. Prominent leaders such as French President Emmanuel Macron, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Chinese Premier Li Qiang, and Argentinian President Javier Milei are among the distinguished attendees. From the United States, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will represent the nation.
Throughout the event, participants will engage in a series of discussions and personal talks on various topics. The aim is to exchange ideas and strategies that can address the challenges at hand. The focus will be on finding sustainable solutions and fostering dialogue among international decision-makers.
