Traveling around the world to explore different cultures is something many budding backpackers dream of. For Madison Rolley, she managed to make it happen – in a very unique way. The 24-year-old from Nashville, Tennessee, used ChatGPT to plan her two-week backpacking trip across Europe – all for just £800 per person, including flights and accommodation.
Madison, who is a digital nomad coach, makes travel tips videos for her Social Media and had decided for her next adventure she wanted to use the AI tool ChatGPT. For the trip for two people, the software proposed a total of $2,100 (£1,686) – excluding the return flight.
The AI tool suggested a route around Stockholm, Paris, Amsterdam and Barcelona – although she modified it to include Brussels instead – and allocated $1,300 for 13 nights accommodation, $300 for 12 attractions and $500 for travel. ChatGPT’s three recommendations for Amsterdam included the Anne Frank Museum, a visit to the Van Gogh Museum and a canal cruise and activities for Paris were the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower.
Impressed by the AI’s planning capabilities, she booked the trip and will leave on 3 July 2021. What’s more, she revealed that the software even gave her ideas to include free or unusual activities along the way which helped to make her dream journey more immersive.
ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence tool which offers a range of activities, including planning trips and providing helpful suggestions to customers. The company is dedicated to developing its bot’s features and has an extensive library of information which is constantly updated.
