Web browser developer Opera Software has released its new generative artificial intelligence-enabled browser, Opera One. The browser is powered by OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 and users can access its AI sidebar, which is integrated with a chatbot named Aria. Users can input conversational prompts to obtain information from the Internet immediately. Aria is capable of producing text or code when asked, and can also access information about Opera. In addition, the company completely revamped the user interface with Tab Islands. This allows users to keep tabs based on context, enabling them to keep different browsing contexts separate. The Opera One desktop browser has also been re-engineered with a multithreaded compositor to deliver a smoother user interface. The company opened its new AI sidebar for testing in its Opera browser earlier this year, before integrating it directly into its browser.
