Moreover, OpenAI is obliged to allow users and non-users to exercise their GDPR-granted right to request updates and delete any their personal data. The company must also notify users when their data is being used to train their AIs, and an awareness campaign is to be launched in Italy.
The deadlines that the Italian regulator has set for OpenAI comply with the GDPR: the installation of the age-verification system must be completed before September 30, while the submission of the plan detailing the use of such tech should happen by May 31. OpenAI has been given an extension for the latter.
