OpenAI recently appointed Srinivas Narayanan as Vice President of Engineering. Narayanan was previously at Meta (formerly known as Facebook) where he served as VP of Engineering. Taking to LinkedIn, Srinivas expressed his excitement to work with the brilliant minds at OpenAI and to be a part of their incredible work.
Srinivas has 13 years of experience in research related to computer vision, natural language processing, speech and personalization. At Meta, he was instrumental in initiating the interest graph, introducing the location product and overseeing engineering for the photos project. Before joining Meta, he co-founded Viralizr, a startup which developed consumer products with a focus on social collaboration. Prior to that, Srinivas worked at IBM, serving as a software engineer.
Notably, Srinivas is not the only one switching from a large tech firm to OpenAI. Former Google AI researchers like Hyung Won Chung, Jason Wei, Shane Gu, among others, are also part of OpenAI.
