OpenAI warns Microsoft about rapid AI integration in Bing

OpenAI has warned Microsoft to move slowly in integrating its technology into the Bing search engine, just months after creating tension between the two companies. Development of the generative AI ChatGPT created concerns that Bing may launch too early on the unreleased GPT-4 as developers pressured for it to be integrated quickly despite potential inaccuracies. Microsoft eventually launched its AI-powered Bing chatbot, which provided many inaccurate and strange responses, causing backlash from users. Some researchers at Microsoft have also critiqued the company’s lack of access to OpenAI’s technology. Microsoft licenses OpenAI models and technology across multiple platforms, including Bing, Azure, Office and Windows.
