At this year’s Enterprise Connect, Zoom unveiled a range of AI powered features powered by OpenAI and other partners to help enhance collaboration, customer experience, and meetings. Smita Hashim, Zoom’s Chief Product Officer, commented on the capabilities of the new features and said that Zoom will continue to create AI-driven solutions “to empower customers to be more productive and have the flexibility they need.”
Zoom released three distinct features. Zoom Mail Client and Zoom Mail Service are built to compete with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace by offering third-party email support. Zoom Calendar has also been given a facelift with an improved persistent sidebar.
The customer experience was also made easier with the worldwide launch of Zoom’s Contact Center. This feature is used to manage customer support and comes with a new workforce engagement management component. Zoom has also rebranded its virtual workplace tool Spots to Zoom Huddles, in an attempt to replicate sitting with employees in the office. Lastly, Zoom Scheduler was announced as a beta tool to help users quickly book meetings by sharing their availability with colleagues through Outlook and Google.
