OpenAI CTO’s Twitter account compromised, posts link to phishing scam

The Twitter account of OpenAI CTO Mira Murati has reportedly been hacked. The hacker used the account to promote a scam crypto airdrop, tweeting a phishing link promising an airdrop on June 2. The link seemed to promote OpenAI, which is named after the Microsoft-backed firm that created the generative AI chatbot ChatGPT. The post was live for an hour before it was deleted but was viewed 79,600 times and retweeted 83 times. Some Twitter users have suggested that Murati became a victim of a SIM-swapping attack. The company and Murati are yet to comment on the breach.
