Nory, an AI-Powered Hospitality OS, emerged victorious in the KPMG Global Tech Innovator Ireland final. The founder and CEO of Nory, Conor Sheridan, will now compete against 22 other country finalists in the global final in Lisbon on November 15.
In the KPMG Global Tech Innovator Ireland competition, Conor faced tough competition from seven other innovative startups across Ireland. These startups presented solutions addressing diversity and inclusion, influencer marketing, child protection, and women’s health.
The Head of Technology & Media at KPMG, Anna Scally, praised the high quality of the entries in this year’s competition. The judges had a challenging task in selecting a winner, but ultimately they chose Nory for its outstanding performance.
The KPMG team in Ireland congratulated Conor and wished him the best for the global competition. They emphasized the invaluable opportunity for Conor to engage with investors, receive mentorship from top-tier CEOs, network with industry peers, and compete for the global prize.
Conor’s journey from being a restaurateur to a tech entrepreneur laid the foundation for Nory’s creation. Initially working in finance, Conor later ventured into the culinary field and established the successful Mad Egg restaurant group. During this time, he recognized the need for an intelligent restaurant management system that could optimize frontline team performance.
Nory’s platform is specifically designed to empower hospitality venues by optimizing cost management and ensuring smooth daily operations. By consolidating essential restaurant functions into a single control hub, Nory offers a comprehensive suite of tools including sales analytics, forecasting, workforce management, and inventory oversight.
Through the use of proprietary AI models, Nory analyzes business data for each restaurant, providing actionable insights to enhance cost control, productivity, and employee engagement.
Nory has partnered with renowned brands across Ireland, continental Europe, and the UK, including Stonegate Pubs, Jamie Oliver Group, Freshly Chopped, and Dr. Juice. The platform has consistently delivered remarkable results, with its clients experiencing over a 50% increase in net profit, making a transformative impact on their businesses.
Earlier this year, Nory secured €7 million in a seed funding round, co-led by Triple Point Ventures and Samaipata VC. Prominent investors such as Playfair Capital, Cavalry VC, and Circlerock Capital also participated in the funding. The investment will be utilized to enhance Nory’s proprietary technology and accelerate its go-to-market strategy.
Conor Sheridan expressed his delight at winning the KPMG Global Tech Innovator Ireland title and highlighted Nory’s mission to revolutionize global hospitality operations through the power of AI. Despite the operational challenges faced by the industry, Conor is determined to bring this accolade home for the thriving Irish ecosystem as he prepares to represent Ireland in Lisbon.
In conclusion, Nory’s AI-powered operating system tailored for the hospitality sector has clinched the title of KPMG Global Tech Innovator Ireland, setting the stage for its participation in the global final.
