Nigeria Secures Hosting Rights for GITEX Africa 2025
Nigeria has recently been granted the prestigious opportunity to host GITEX Africa, the largest technology and startup event on the continent, in September 2025. This announcement comes after two successful editions in Morocco, making the move to Nigeria a significant milestone for the event.
During GITEX Africa Morocco, organizers KAOUN International formalized the decision by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Nigeria’s National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). The signing ceremony was attended by key figures including Mr. Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, Director General of NITDA, and Ms. Trixie LohMirmand, CEO of KAOUN International, in the presence of Dr. Tunji Alausa, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Health & Social Reform.
GITEX Nigeria is expected to be the largest event of its kind, showcasing Nigeria’s thriving tech ecosystem with a focus on AI, Health, Finance, and Startups. The Director-General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, emphasized the event’s significance for Nigeria’s economic development and growth through technology. Trixie LohMirmand, CEO of KAOUN International, highlighted the opportunity to explore Nigeria’s potential at a time of rapid growth in key sectors.
The upcoming GITEX Nigeria will include popular co-located shows such as AI Everything Nigeria, North Star Nigeria for Startups, GITEX Health Tech 5.0, and GITEX Future Finance 5.0. The event is poised to elevate Nigeria’s tech industry and enhance its global presence within the tech community.
