The Nigeria Innovation Summit (NIS) is gearing up for its 8th edition, set to take place on October 6, 2023, at the Muson Centre in Lagos. Organized by InnovationHub Africa, this annual event brings together stakeholders from various sectors to discuss groundbreaking ideas, trends, and opportunities in order to accelerate innovation and attain global competitiveness.
This year’s theme is Innovating For The Future, and the summit aims to explore cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), and virtual/augmented reality. These technologies have the potential to shape the future and find applications across diverse industries like health, agriculture, financial services, education, security, construction, renewable energy/clean-tech, and more.
The summit plans to feature several engaging sessions and activities, including Nigeria Innovation Experience Talks (NiX Talks), a Press Parley, Innovation Tours, Innovation Showcase & Exhibitions, Startup Pitch, and the Nigeria Innovation Awards/Private Dinner. These events will provide opportunities for knowledge sharing, networking, and collaboration among participants.
The NIS has a successful track record, having attracted over 8,000 delegates, 180 speakers and panellists, and attendees from 30 countries. The event has also received support from leading organizations and institutions in Nigeria and abroad, allowing it to connect Nigerian businesses and innovators to the global innovation ecosystem.
To ensure wider reach, the summit will be live-streamed on YouTube and Facebook, allowing a larger audience from Nigeria and beyond to participate virtually. Moreover, through sponsorship, partnership, and exhibitions, the event offers great opportunities for organizations to showcase their innovative products, ideas, and services.
The event’s agenda was recently disclosed by Mr Tony Ajah, the Programme Director of the Summit. He emphasized the importance of innovation, stating that it remains a non-exhaustive topic globally and that it’s crucial to continue igniting conversations to demystify frameworks that have proven to work in similar environments.
With a focus on innovation and the future, the Nigeria Innovation Summit 2023 promises to be a significant platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and the exploration of cutting-edge technologies. It aims to drive innovation in Nigeria, address existing problems, and propel the nation towards global competitiveness.
