New Entry-Level Scale from Withings – the $100 Body Smart Scale

Date:

Withings has rounded out its lineup of smart scales with a new entry-level model, the Body Smart. Brilliantly offering features such as Eyes Closed mode, this scale provides users with accurate measurements in addition to a reliable tracking system. It is available now on the market today and comes with a price tag of $100, replacing the previous model, the Body+.

The Body Smart is compatible with the eyes closed mode, which does not display your weight on the scale’s color screen, rather the company’s app will track your information. Furthermore, if desired it will present motivating messages, step counts, as well as daily data such as weather and air quality. There are also modes available for athletes, pregnant people, and babies – in fact, the scale can support up to eight users!

The device uses a multifrequency bioelectrical impedance analysis technology to measure and analyze weight and body composition. This technology sends an electrical signal through the body to measure for resistance and the reaction of tissues to currents in order to provide a comprehensive analysis of any individual’s body health.

Recently, Withings upgraded the mid-tier Body Comp scale to come with a color LCD Screen. On the higher end, they plan to release the $400 Body Scan model in the US that will provide consumers with segmental body composition and a 6-lead electrocardiography with atrial fibrillation detection. This latter model is already available in some parts of the world.

Withings is a global digital health brand with a goal to make healthcare accessibile to everyone. Founded in 2008 by Cedric Hutchin, its breakthrough technologies have helped bring innovative products to the health and sale sector, so people and healthcare professionals can monitor and prevent illnesses, learn more about their own health, and stay motivated to reach their goals.
