Never Get Caught Again – ChatGPT Tool Uses Artificial Intelligence

Date:

Ensuring your private chat messages remain secure is now easier than ever before. OpenAI, the parent company of ChatGPT, has released a new stealth mode feature, allowing AI users to prevent conversations from being stored and seen by prying eyes. Mira Murati, OpenAI’s Chief Technology Officer, confirmed to Reuters that this was another step in their campaign to prioritize user privacy.

Similar to a web browser’s “incognito mode”, ChatGPT’s new setting allows users to deactivate “Chat History & Training”. By doing so, no training will be done by AI trainers, and no logs of each conversation will be stored. By placing the user in the “driver’s seat” of their data collection, Murati described that the algorithm tweaks will continue to satisfy user demand.

The push for privacy comes in the form of public backlash. Last month in Italy, it was reported that OpenAI had breached user data, leading to an immediate ban of the Microsoft-backed ChatGPT. Furthermore, the algorithm for the platform was reported to have accidentally shared random users’ conversations. Upon the error, OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman immediately tweeted his apology.

OpenAI is a research laboratory founded in late 2015 and funded by Tesla co-founder and billionaire, Elon Musk. It’s primary goal is to develop artificial general, which is code for all-purpose artificial intelligence. Murati joined OpenAI in July of 2019, where she focuses on understanding, manipulating and making sense of natural language from text data.

Altman has since promoted this new feature multiple times, citing the importance of protecting user privacy. “With the new stealth mode, it becomes impossible for OpenAI to access any conversation you send”, he stated. So users can now rely on the fact that whatever is shared in ChatGPT messages is entirely confidential.
