Motorola is set to launch its new Moto G85 5G smartphone, following the success of the Moto G84 5G released in Australia last year. The upcoming device was recently spotted on a European retailer’s website, hinting at an imminent launch.
According to the listing, the Moto G85 5G is expected to be priced around €300 (approximately A$487) for the 12GB RAM / 256GB storage variant. While the official pricing and availability details for Australia are yet to be confirmed, the Moto G84 5G is currently priced at A$399 and is available from JB Hi-Fi and the official Motorola website.
The predecessor, Moto G84 5G, features a 6.55-inch FHD+ pOLED display with a high refresh rate of 120Hz and up to 1300nits brightness. It is powered by a Snapdragon 695 processor coupled with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, expandable up to 1TB. The device also boasts a 50MP rear camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 16MP front camera.
In addition, the Moto G84 5G offers advanced features such as an under-display fingerprint sensor, support for 5G connectivity with 14 bands, dual 4G VoLTE, and various connectivity options. It runs on a robust 5,000mAh battery with 30W turbocharging, includes a 3.5mm audio jack, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, dual microphones, and holds an IP54 rating for water resistance.
Motorola has been actively expanding its product lineup in Australia, recently introducing the Moto Edge 50 Fusion and Moto Edge 50 Pro smartphones. The Edge 50 Pro boasts premium features like contoured edges, an IP68 rating for underwater and dust protection, a 50MP main camera, and a 10MP 3x telephoto camera. It also offers a 6.7-inch pOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, and support for Dolby Atmos.
On the other hand, the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion comes with an IP68 rating for dust, water, and accidental drops, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, a 50MP main Ultra Pixel camera, a 13MP ultrawide camera, and a 32MP front camera.
